24/7 Biohazard Cleanup and Remediation on Long Island

Biohazard cleanup and remediation across Nassau, Suffolk and NYC: sewage backups, sharps, hoarding conditions, animal waste and infectious disease decontamination.

For residential, commercial, institutional and industrial properties, 24 hours a day.

Scope

Situations That Require Biohazard Remediation

This is our broadest service category, and not everything on this list involves a death or injury.

Sewage and Category 3 Water

Backups, sewer line failures and floodwater carrying sewage. Grossly contaminated water saturates drywall, insulation, subfloor and cabinetry.

Hoarding and Severe Accumulation

Conditions involving human or animal waste, spoiled food, pest infestation, structural damage or blocked egress.

Animal Waste and Deceased Animals

Long-term pet waste accumulation, urine saturation into subfloor and deceased animals in crawlspaces, attics and wall cavities.

Sharps and Medical Waste

Discarded needles in rental units, public restrooms and vacant properties, plus abandoned medical waste at home care sites.

Infectious Disease Decontamination

Targeted disinfection following a confirmed or suspected exposure, using EPA-registered products applied to required dwell times.

Odor and Gross Filth Remediation

Severe odor from organic sources, vacant property neglect, refrigeration failure and abandonment cleanouts.

Method

What Separates Biohazard Remediation From Cleaning

Plenty of companies quote a biohazard job and perform a cleaning job. The difference is method, not effort.

Containment First

Sealed barriers and negative air pressure keep contaminated particulate inside the work area. Without them, aggressive cleaning distributes the problem.

Removal Before Disinfection

You cannot disinfect a material that has absorbed contamination into its structure. Saturated porous materials come out first.

Dwell Time, Not Wipe-Down

EPA-registered disinfectants only work if they stay wet for their specified contact time. The right product used the wrong way is the wrong process.

Verification and Manifests

We test rather than assume, and regulated waste is packaged and manifested through licensed channels.

Equipment on a Typical Biohazard Job

  • Negative air machines with HEPA filtration
  • Sealed containment barriers and decontamination chambers
  • Full PPE and respiratory protection
  • EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants
  • Moisture meters and thermal imaging
  • ATP surface testing for verification
  • Hydroxyl and ozone generation for odor
  • Puncture-resistant sharps recovery tools
  • Approved regulated medical waste containers

Commercial Biohazard Cleanup for Businesses and Property Portfolios

A biohazard event at a commercial property is a safety issue, a liability issue, a compliance issue and a revenue issue at once. Every closed hour costs money, and reopening too early costs considerably more.

Property Management

Apartment complexes, co-ops and rental portfolios. Unit turnovers and common area incidents.

Hospitality and Retail

Hotels, restaurants and stores where an incident must be resolved quietly and quickly.

Industrial and Warehouse

Facilities where a spill or injury has taken part of the operation offline and OSHA compliance is in play.

Schools and Public Buildings

Districts, campuses and municipal facilities needing documented remediation.

Medical and Dental

Practices facing a contamination event or waste handling failure outside routine protocol.

Transport and Fleet

Vehicles, buses and shared equipment requiring decontamination before returning to service.

Common questions

Biohazard Cleanup Questions We Are Asked Most

What counts as a biohazard?

Any biological material that can transmit disease: blood and bodily fluids, tissue, human or animal waste, sewage, used sharps, improperly stored medical waste and materials contaminated by infectious disease. Hoarding conditions qualify once they reach a certain point.

Do you handle sewage backups?

Yes. Sewage is a Category 3 water loss, meaning it is grossly contaminated and carries bacteria, viruses and parasites. Affected porous materials generally have to be removed rather than dried, and the structure has to be disinfected rather than cleaned.

Can you handle a hoarding situation?

Yes, and we approach it carefully. Hoarding cleanups often involve human and animal waste, spoiled food, pest infestation and structural conditions not visible until material is removed. We work at a pace the household can handle and treat belongings as belongings.

What do you do with needles and sharps?

Sharps are recovered using puncture-resistant tools and containers, never by hand, and disposed of through licensed regulated medical waste channels.

Is biohazard cleanup covered by insurance?

Sometimes. Coverage varies with the policy, the cause and whether the underlying event is a covered peril. Sewage backup often requires a specific endorsement. We provide full documentation, but the determination is your carrier's.

How is this different from a deep cleaning company?

Scope, equipment, training and disposal. Cleaning companies clean surfaces. Remediation means containment with negative air pressure, removal of contaminated porous building materials, hospital-grade disinfection, verification and licensed waste disposal.
